365 RESOLUTIONS

We all have them; as each new year dawns upon us and we bid adieu to the last twelve months with enthusiasm or lack thereof, the start of a brand new year sparks within us a chance to give our lives a smarter, tidier go-around. The majority of us rely heavily on this massive occasion to make a change for ourselves, whether that be to lose weight, clean out our closets (literally and figuratively), give back to society, become more spiritual, put the kibosh on bad habits--basically anything we believe will make us happier and healthier than the preceding year. While these newfound mantras give us tremendous power internally, just imagine what we could do outwardly for our lives and those around us if we approached each and every day like a sparkly new opportunity? Much like that holiday in February that is reserved for love and romance, shouldn't we be participating in this every chance we get with the ones we love, not solely on the 14th? So many of us wake up on January 1st with the best intentions; we are hitting the gym every day, clothes-drives and self-help classes, but before we know it, the champagne and black eyed pea buzz wears off and we are right back to our old habits. We're only human after all, it happens to the very best of us.

This year, we have only one true resolution; one that we know we can stick to, with minimal chances that we'll fault on, or abandon before month's end. We vow to treat every single day in 2015 like it's a new year, a chance for a new beginning. Instead of promising ourselves we can attain unrealistic goals, or take on things that simply don't pique our interests, we are only committing to resolve to make each day count, to just do our best--even on those days when our best is fleeting...

Happiest New Year wishes to you all. Enjoy the endless possibilities ahead. And don't forget to use each and every day as a new beginning. If you fall, you've got the next day to get it right, and every day thereafter, until all of your days are gone. Best to make it count now.
