Do you ever find yourself thinking; wondering what your impact on this world entails? Sure, we are just one in seven-billion sharing this planet, how much of an impact could each of us possibly help or hurt, some might ask. At Feldspar Brook, we actually believe that even just one of us has the ability to batter or benefit the earth a great deal, which is why for however long we inhabit this wondrous place we choose to actively be a part of the latter option. We feel it is each of our individual responsibility to look after this land we've been given and nurture it as our very own; something special and unique that's been given to us; handed down to us to adopt and look after. If the earth was taken away from us and we lost it, with it we'd also lose everything we've ever come to know and love. Life, as we know it, would end. There are no second chances, no backup options of new habitable planets waiting
around the solar corner. It doesn't take drastic movements in learning to be cognizant of one's carbon footprint. Recycling and simply depositing your trash into their appropriate bins--not onto floors, parks, or streets--is an easy step in the right direction. Too many of us disremember to unplug electronics or turn lights off when we no longer need them. Appreciating the sight of a tree or a patch of grass over a high-rise every once in a green-while also does wonders for the soul (as well as the lungs).
None of us at Feldspar Brook claim to be economically splendid. We all have slip-ups or situational ignorance on an off-day. What each of us strives towards however, is an overall economically responsible quality of life. Our mothers, fathers, and caretakers taught us to respect ourselves and our possessions, it's only natural that we should do the same for the land in which we've won.
