In 1978, a tiny boutique opened their doors on Columbus Avenue to locals and visitors seeking both precious and intimate gifts built around the shape of a heart. Whether it was dainty jewelry or a delicate corset, Only Hearts sold just that--the ultimate symbol of love to be worn and adorned.
Today, creator Helena Stuart still has quite the booming, popular business on her hands and what was once purely devoted to tangible hearts is now a full-on, lingerie and fashion brand offering all those things that make the actual heart go aflutter. Stuart's collections are still being
designed and manufactured in NYC today, and consist of organic cotton and other sustainable textiles blended together to make adorably comfortable undies, slips, pjs, bras and negliges. Only Hearts remains the thriving shop it was since '78, and still resides on Columbus Ave, serving as the original spot to sister-stores on Mott Street as well as Santa Monica and across the pond in Rome, Italy.
It's quite fitting that Stuart's daughter, Kaya, has partnered with her mom after a stint at Parsons School of Design, contributing her design and management skills to the family business. That's a woman after her own heart.
