I have to be honest and let it be known that when I was first introduced to the concept of Feldspar Brook I was initially sold on the lifestyle aspect of this new company, more so than the actual product at hand. What would truly make a Feldspar Brook Polo better than a Ralph Lauren? A Lacoste? Brands that have built their entire business models off this one particular shirt for decades now and made a killing in doing so--what would make a polo-committed consumer want to buy our shirt over the name and logo they've trusted and happily worn for years? It wasn't until I sat through design meetings, witnessed our unique vision spring to life, and finally took one look at our polo sample next to an identical version of the competition before everything became crystal clear. Finally seeing and feeling our product solidified in its perfect form did I learn a thing or five about the anatomy of the popular polos that have saturated the market for lifetimes--and that Feldspar Brook did in fact create a far better version. My only unresolved question--why on earth has this never been done before?
My father has worn polos since I can remember. He wouldn't dare cover his body with anything considered lazy or disrespectful to himself or anyone in his company. Even when working up a sweat privately in his own backyard, the man took pride in the way he dressed at all times. He saw his wardrobe as an extension of how he perceived his life, and the lives of those he cared about. My dad isn't necessarily into labels nor price tags, just quality and effortless style. This is a man that came from humble beginnings and worked his way up the ladder of a company from assistant to company president before retiring at a respectable age to perfect his home-cooked meals and watercolor portraits. My father preferred worn polos to mow the lawn over t-shirts, and comfy loafers over sneakers. He's always been a classically styled man with traditional, refined taste. Which is exactly why my dad deserves a better polo, a far more superior polo than the ones he's donned for years.
It's simple, really. All one has to do is flip their beloved polo inside-out alongside our reversed polo to clearly see the massive difference between them and us. Our shirt contains clean, immaculate french seams throughout while all of those other polo's seams are left unfinished, unsightly, and flopping back-and-forth against the skin. Like, just because the interior construction isn't intended to be seen it therefore doesn't matter? Actually, it does matter and we aren't here to cut corners with what we've so consciously created for you. We've been paying top dollar for less than stellar garments for years. Well, not anymore. We all deserve a better polo, and our fathers deserve to wear a perfect polo, even when merely mowing the lawn or cleaning out the garage. Feldspar Brook indeed has a place in this world, and I'm so fortunate to play a part in it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting more from your clothes, and the clothes of your loved ones.
